John On Issues

Elder Abuse

Elder Abuse cannot be tolerated.

Elders are a growing population in Sonoma County that are particularly vulnerable to abuse, both physical and financial.

This vulnerability must be fairly and firmly addressed with compassion by a Superior Court Judge, who must recognize that our elders have the right to live with dignity.
John’s background caring for his Grandma Stella in her early dementia years solidified his compassion for the elderly

Tough action must be taken against the perpetrators of crimes against elders. The police must investigate, the district attorney must prosecute, and the Superior Court Judge must do everything possible to keep these offenders off our streets.

Concerned about elders

Child Abuse

Child abuse and neglect are inexcusable.

Crimes against children have a tragic and destructive impact. The impact of abuse not only affects the victim, but our entire community. These especially sensitive victims must be treated with sensitivity and respect.

As the father of 5 year old twins, John knows firsthand the particular vulnerability of our young, and knows that compassion, decisiveness and fairness is essential in these matters.

Tough action must be taken against the perpetrators of crimes against children. The police must investigate, the district attorney must prosecute, and the Superior Court Judge must do everything possible to keep these offenders off our streets.

Sexual Abuse

Sexual Abuse is an extremely serious offense.

Sexual Abuse victims can be male, female, young or old. It is dehumanizing and it is a violent crime that should not be tolerated. A person’s basic right to be safe in the community they live must be protected.

The impact on victim’s include physical, financial and mental harms that a Superior Court Judge must address.

A Superior Court Judge must recognize that a victim is never to blame. Victims are not responsible for the actions of the rapist, the assailant, or the abuser.

Tough action must be taken against the perpetrators of sexual abuse. The police must investigate, the district attorney must prosecute, and the Superior Court Judge must do everything possible to keep these offenders off our streets.

Gangs & Hate Crimes

Gangs & Hate Crimes

Gang violence in Sonoma County has increased in recent years. Our youth and our community are at risk.

Crimes committed for the benefit of criminal street gangs cannot be tolerated, and crimes committed based upon animus alone are equally deplorable.

We must restore our community and its neighborhoods to peace.

Tough action must be taken against the perpetrators of hate crimes and gang violence. The police must investigate, the district attorney must prosecute, and the Superior Court Judge must do everything possible to keep these offenders off our streets.

Judicial Efficiency

Violent offenders must be appropriately punished, while certain none violent offenders need to be provided effective treatment programs where appropriate.

The court system must continue to provide and preserve innovative cost saving programs in the criminal justice system such as courts for domestic violence prevention, drug treatment, mental health, veteran’s, elder abuse, traffic and others in these tough budgetary times. The civil justice system must continue to provide access to specialty courts for restraining orders, juvenile dependency, family law, unlawful detainers (evictions), probate, and others.

Judicial Efficiency

John LemMon is ready to be a Superior Court Judge. John knows his decisions from the bench will help form the society that our children will inherit.
